Respecting Human Rights

We hold a deep commitment to respecting human rights in all aspects of our business operations. We acknowledge that it is the responsibility of sovereign states to establish and uphold laws and policies that protect against human rights abuses. However, in cases where legal frameworks are inadequate or conflict with internationally recognized human rights, we are dedicated to doing what is right. Our commitment extends across our entire value chain, encompassing all stakeholders, including our employees, consumers, local communities, and business partners.

No Child Labor

We strictly prohibit the exploitation of children and are committed to eradicating child labor from our end-to-end value chain. We align with the International Labor Organization’s definition, which states that child labor deprives children of their childhood, potential, and dignity, and interferes with their physical and mental development. We firmly stand against any form of child labor and ensure that our operations do not contribute to this violation of human rights.

No Forced Labor

We support the Consumer Goods Forum Priority Industry Principles, which address the issue of forced labor. We recognize that certain employment and recruitment practices, when combined with leverage or other factors, can result in forced labor, particularly among vulnerable workers. As part of our commitment to human rights, we actively implement these principles across our global value chains and operations. Our aim is to eliminate forced labor and protect the rights of all workers, regardless of their employment status, location, contractual arrangements, or role.

Non-Discrimination

Inclusivity lies at the core of our values. We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive culture and do not discriminate against individuals based on various legally protected factors, including race, color, gender, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, citizenship, disability, veteran status, HIV/AIDS status, or any other protected characteristic. We respect our employees’ right to choose union representation or recognized employee representation as per local law, and we strive to establish constructive dialogues with employee representatives to address their interests and concerns.

Doing the Right Thing with Our Employees

Our commitment to improving lives extends to our employees. We recruit, hire, and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the markets and consumers we serve. Embracing diversity provides us with a competitive advantage and fuels innovation in our ideas, products, and services. We believe that a diverse workforce drives our collective success and enables us to achieve our goals together.

Waste Reduction

Our Packaging Sustainability Strategy

At our company, we are committed to shaping a future where waste is minimized and eliminated. Our vision is to ensure that none of our packaging ends up in landfills or as litter. We aspire to create a future where well-designed packaging, innovative materials, improved recycling infrastructure, and reusable or refillable packaging prevent waste on land and in oceans. While this goal is ambitious, we are dedicated to achieving it.

Achieving this vision requires collective action from all sectors of society. We actively participate in the development of effective collection, sorting, and recycling systems in the countries where we operate. While the global infrastructure gap poses challenges beyond our control, we collaborate with partners worldwide to model successful collection and resource recovery systems.

Our packaging strategy is grounded in science and driven by experts dedicated to developing sustainable packaging materials for the future. Our team is at the forefront of evolving packaging design practices, focusing on refillable or reusable packaging systems, simplified or recycled packaging materials, and high-performance barrier papers, as well as bio-based, compostable, and biodegradable materials.

Our strategy revolves around five pillars:

  1. Reducing plastic packaging material usage: We aim to decrease our reliance on packaging materials, including virgin plastic, by one-third by 2030.
  2. Scaling reusable and refillable systems: We are actively working to eliminate non-recyclable plastics and investing in innovative delivery systems that reduce the need for disposable packaging.
  3. Designing better packaging materials: Collaborating with industrial partners, we are engaged in the development of new packaging materials and solutions.
  4. Supporting recycling infrastructure: We strive to prevent plastic leakage into the environment by supporting and promoting effective recycling initiatives across our global operations.
  5. Shaping new behaviors: Addressing the plastic waste challenge requires a collective shift in behavior. We are committed to driving behavioral change among our company, retail partners, suppliers, and consumers.

Through our comprehensive packaging sustainability strategy, we are determined to make a significant positive impact on waste reduction and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Sustainability

At our company, environmental sustainability is at the core of our business practices. Our aim is to make people’s lives better every day. However, we recognize that the definition of “better” has evolved. Today, it’s not just about better for consumers; it also includes better for the planet. We share this conviction and understand that true innovation must be both superior and sustainable. Together, through collaboration and partnership, we can create a better future for everyone. After all, it is our home, and the urgency to act is now.

Climate

Setting a bold ambition, we strive to achieve net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations and supply chain by 2045. Our Climate Transition Action Plan encompasses the entire lifecycle of our products and packaging, addressing emissions from raw materials to retailers. We recognize the importance of a holistic approach to combat climate change.

Waste

The issue of plastic waste in our environment demands a comprehensive and collaborative approach. We understand the urgency to drive greater circularity in the plastics lifecycle, which requires the involvement of multiple stakeholders. While plastic serves important functions in packaging and emissions reduction, responsible use and reuse are paramount. By 2035, we are committed to designing all our consumer packaging to be recyclable or reusable. We are also actively working on scaling new recycling solutions, exploring alternative materials, and collaborating externally to improve waste management infrastructure and increase plastic collection.

Water

In our pursuit of a water-positive future, we are dedicated to preserving water resources for the well-being of people and nature. We have developed strategies to reduce water consumption in our operations, contributing to the conservation of local water supplies.

Nature

We prioritize the long-term health of natural ecosystems, recognizing their significance for biodiversity, people, and our business. Responsible sourcing of key commodities is a fundamental part of our efforts to support the well-being of these ecosystems.

Energy Conservation

One of our primary focuses has been on reducing energy consumption, particularly in the area that contributes the most to our carbon footprint—water heating during product use. Through innovation and consumer education, we have made significant strides in this area.

By integrating sustainability into our business practices, we are committed to creating a positive impact on the environment and society as a whole.
